THE WAY OF GOD
You teach about the way of God regardless of the consequences. (Matthew 22:18b NLT)
Have you ever found yourself questioning whether it was worth it go God’s way? Have you ever been in a situation where it appeared that the cost was going to be too great of a price to pay for doing what you knew the Lord wanted you to do? The Word of God tells us to count the cost and to make sure we are willing to pay it, but God also tells us that He has presented a way of life or death and that we should choose life. God’s way is the way to life and victory. The only way to receive all the good plans God has for you is to do things His way.
Today is a great day to consider God’s way since it is the day we celebrate the resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus made His decision to do things God’s way regardless of the consequences, and He knew that the ultimate price would be His death on the cross. He also knew that the Father had promised to raise Him and that He would return to His place of glory. Scripture says that for the joy set before Him, He endured the death on the cross. Make no mistake; He was not doing it just so He would get glory. He did it for the joy of leading many sons to glory. He did it for us. He did it for you and for me!
Most everyone has heard this before, but not that many have come to know it as truth and life. The only way to know the Life that Jesus promised is to determine to go God’s way, even if it kills us, and it will kill us. Old things will die off, but new and greater things will spring to life.
Jesus was and is always our example. He is the proof. He came to show us the way and die so that we could live. They crucified Him and buried Him but they could not keep Him in the tomb. The tomb is empty, and Jesus is alive. What a new life He stepped into on that resurrection day. The presence of God was so powerful that the stone moved and the guards collapsed. This is what Jesus does for us when we choose God’s way regardless of the consequences. It may look costly, painful, and hopeless at times, but if we stay on the path, the old dies and we are changed from glory to glory. When we commit to God’s way, His power moves the heavy stones and pounds the enemy to ground. This is the good news of the gospel.
Don’t you just feel the power of God ready to move those heavy burdens, and to blow the enemy over as you determine in your heart to press on. Jesus got on that donkey and rode into the city, knowing what was ahead of Him. He did not hide in fear. He spoke and lived the truth regardless of the consequences. He paid a tremendous price for you and me, but in the end it was just as God said it would be. Death was swallowed up in victory. Are you ready for a resurrection? Is there a victory you need today? Receive it!
