THERE

Then Jesus made the followers get into the boat. He told them to go to the other side of the Lake. He said He would come later. (Matthew 14:22 ERV)

Look there. Go there. Who is there? What will we do there? You will now when you get there. Who will be there? Why do we have to go there? There, there; you will be alright. How often do we use and or hear the word there?

There, is a word that is used in many situations for many parts of speech; the main meaning according to Webster is in or at that place; to express satisfaction, approval, soothing or defiance. I guess we have all been there!

Faith is kind of a there thing. It seems we are headed there and suddenly wonder how we got here. God is able to turn ‘there’ into here, and once we are here we see why He wanted us to go there even when we did not know where there was! If that makes sense to you, you have been there. If it does not, God will get you there just keep going.

As I read that again, I can see why it makes perfect sense and remember a time when it would have made no sense. I can easily see that there were a lot those times over the last 31 years as well as quite a few times in my first 30 years that I would call set up times. But that is for another time. Let’s go on.

This thinking was brought to light when I was praying and became aware of a darkness that kept going into deeper darkness. As I looked at it, I realized it was that tunnel from a dream that we spoke of some time back. It was then that God said, “It is time to get in the tunnel.” Before I could ask many of my previous questions or think of new ones, He said, “You will know when you get there, just get there.” And so began the formation of where is there.

When Jesus told the disciples to get to the other side, they really did not know what was there. Even if they had been there before they could not be sure what was there. After all, they had found many things in many places. There is always something new, we just have to get there.

The wonderful thing about life with God is that He is always there. So even if we do not what or where there is, we know He will be there waiting. Most people want to go to heaven, but no one really knows what is there or what it will be like. Even when someone sees it and they make movies about it; no movie or testimony can really tell us what is there for us. I hardly think that God is limited to just one view.

This walk of faith is a tunnel that leads us to the place that God has for us. When we get there, we go to the next place. Each place with God is the best place. Get there!
