What can we do? We can love God. How do we love God? We simply take time to love Him. It is the most important thing we can do! It is not about loving God perfectly, but that is a great goal. He loves us perfectly; so we could follow His example.

Paul wrote about knowing the love of God. He said everyone should know His love. We should know the height, width, depth and breadth of the love of God. The only way I know of to know that, is to take the time to love Him. There is something about spending time with Him that will help with that.

As followers of Christ, we often get caught up in doing rather than being. It is a good thing to do, but doing can wear a person out, because when do you never know when you have done enough. When we get tired of doing, we often pull over to the side of road and stop and hope we have come far enough.

The thing that David did right was know when it was time to love God. I think the thing he finally figured out was that it was always time to love God.

This week I have had a lot of different thoughts that have washed over me as I have read the Word and talked with the Lord. I have prayed about those in the valley of decision realizing what it was like in the valley for me. Valleys in the natural are actually pretty nice fertile places. They are dangerous places of complacency spiritually. I have confidence that God can raise people up in any circumstance, I need to trust Him to do that!

Time loving Him increases our trust and relieves pressure. We could all stand to trust God more and have less pressure.

So today, I encourage you to just take time to love God. Take time to tell Him how wonderful He is and how much you appreciate Him. Take time to just say nothing and listen. Take time to just thing about what He says in His word and listen to what He says to you. Take time to be thankful. He loves that.

You can be sure of this; God will enjoy your attention and it will be perfect in His sight. When you love God you are a very bright spot in the darkness. He does not miss one moment of it. He soaks up all the light and love you send. It makes His day.

Let’s all make God’s day today. No pressure. Enjoy! Remember you could never out give or out love God. Lord, Your love keeps lifting us higher. Oh how we love you. Thank you for your love. Amen!
