TIMING

Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this. (Esther 4:14)

Have you ever wondered about the timing of things? Have you ever asked, “Why now!” or “Why not now?” Truly, timing affects everything. As Christians, there is one thing we must be certain of, and that is that the Lord’s timing is always perfect. Everything He does is at just the right time. He has everything planned for just the right time. We may mess with the timing. By our choices we either stay in the plan or drift from the plan, but that does not change the fact that God has a perfect plan.

Personally, I think I delayed God’s perfect plan for my life, but fortunately I did not miss it completely. The grace to save me never left my side! I Praise the Lord for that! Since that time, God’s grace has been steadily working in my life to complete His plans. You can be sure that the same is true for you.

As we look at Esther, we see that she obtained grace and favor in the kings sight. There is no doubt in my mind that the grace and favor she received were placed there by God. He had everything timed. I love to look at things after they are completed and imagine all that God did in order to bring them about. It never ceases to amaze me as I see how He worked when I did not see it happening.

In Esther’s case, she thought the timing was less than perfect. She feared for her life. Her uncle Mordecai asked her to consider that perhaps this is perfect timing. I love how he has no doubt that God will provide a deliverer no matter what Esther does. But wouldn’t it have been awful if Esther missed this opportunity. Have you ever missed an opportunity? I know I have!

God’s grace is an amazing thing. It is working for the Kingdom of God all of the time. His grace is moving on the hearts of people producing favor for His people. At the same time that special favor and blessing stands ready for all who call for it. Before we have a need, He has provided for it. Learning to expect it is key to receiving it.

Mordecai lived expecting God to take care of his people. I suspect that there were very few like him at the time. Fortunately, it does not take a lot of people; it only takes one who will put their trust in God. That one can affect another and another and so on.

Are you one? Are you willing to be one? If we are willing to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, the Bible assures us that the grace of God is available to complete the good work that He has begun in us. The time is now. No doubt some of you are ready to shout because this confirms what you have been sensing from God. Others may not feel this could have anything to with you. Let me encourage you that God is ready. You have come into the kingdom for such a time as this. If you are not yet in the Kingdom, this is most certainly the time. The grace of God is for you!
