TOMORROW

So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. (Matthew 6:34 NLT)

The day that is always coming and never gets here, is tomorrow. Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow. We have today and today is a day that the Lord has made. It is a day that Jesus has given us life. He has given us joy; complete joy. Not everything brings us joy, but Jesus is joy, and He is with us to make our joy complete.

Even in the darkest of times, He reminds us to draw near to Him. Like a child is comforted by a parent, so Jesus will comfort us.

I am also reminded of the times that the Lord spoke of, “this time tomorrow! Those words always resulted in big changes. Lazarus was raised from the dead, enemies were defeated, and everything changed when God spoke of this time tomorrow!

My brothers and sisters, tomorrow is coming. We can rejoice in the promises of God. The tomorrow of heaven is coming and that will be wonderful, but there are a lot of tomorrows between now and then. Of course, there may not be, and what a day that will be. For now, let’s focus on the promises of God.

We can be sure that He is able to fix all the things that look unfixable around us. That includes our personal circumstances as well as national and worldwide things. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, He can change the world. He made the world, and he can fix it. Wait upon the Lord! Trust in Him always. Remember to give Him thanks for the great things He has done. Remember what He has done, and you cannot help but have confidence in what He will do.

We look at all the darkness and the crazy things people are doing, and we can become discouraged, but the people who know their God will do exploits. Let God use you for exploits. Think about tomorrow. Tomorrow could be the day when everything is exposed as light shines out of the darkness. We know He has assured us that the day is coming.

In the night, the Lord told me to rest assured! I was just trying to get to sleep. It seems that as I considered what exactly He was talking about, I went to sleep. This morning when I woke up, and continued pondering what He was referring to, it seemed He was referring to everything! I also believe He is telling me to pass it along. Rest assured! That is God’s word for us. Rest assured!

Rest assured that God has heard. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He pointed out that He knew God had heard Him. We also know that He had heard God. He only did what God showed Him and said what God told Him. Therefore, he could wait for Lazarus to die! He could declare clearly that Lazarus was dead. He could confidently say that God would be glorified.

In all things, at all times, Jesus practiced resting assured. He challenges us to do the same thing. Don’t worry about tomorrow. REST ASSURED!
