TRANSLATED

He has deliver us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Col 1:13)

Recently we talked about being as Jesus is and revealing the goodness of God in this present world. This scripture tells us that we have been rescued and translated. In other words, God did not just rescue us and leave us in the same place to be caught again. He rescued us and moved us into the kingdom of His dear Son. It is very important that we come to understand this fact. Before the Holy spirit spoke this truth He made of point of praying that we would be filled with all the knowledge of His will for our lives. (Vs.9)

As God spoke to me about this, He seemed to highlight the word translate. Some time ago He put it in my heart to have a book of these devotions translated for our dear brothers and sisters in Russia. I recently learned that it is not just a process of changing the words into Russian words, but it also requires someone to take those words and make them so that they convey the meaning the way it was intended. I suppose others know such things, but I was of the opinion that once the words were translated that would take care of it. God pointed out to me that it is the same with the scripture. Just because the words are there, does not mean that the revelation is complete.

If we read this and do not get the understanding of it, then we are liable to just lay it aside as another scripture telling us about things that are far away or unattainable in this life time. This is not what God wants. God wants us to experience Him and in turn reveal Him to those around us. They need to see Him now, not later!

He rescued us for a purpose. He rescued us from a world where darkness reigns and where we were powerless to do anything about it because for the most part we did not even realize the bondage we were in. Then by the grace of God His light shined on us and we saw our plight. Once we see the problem we cry out to God and He hears us and rescues us. Many people come to the rescue part, but then they do not understand that God also moved them from the place of having no power or authority, to the place where all things are possible if we will believe and trust in the name of Jesus. God did not leave us to flounder around in this world waiting to be taken to heaven. He rescued us so that we might rescue others by revealing God’s plan of victory to all who will seek it.

Don’t let God’s truth pass you by just because you feel like you can’t understand it or because you think it must be just for certain others. Don’t stop and say you will just be happy if you get to heaven. We will all be happy about that! But what about the others who need to see Him clearly? What about those people who are depending you to reveal Him through your life? What about the abundant life that He promised and that you want desperately, but you don’t see how you could ever have it? This verse tells us it is ours. We just need to get the understanding and then by faith walk in it.
