TRIUMPH OR TRIALS

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulations; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33 NKJ)

Recently in prayer I was thanking the Lord for all that He has done for me. He created the heavens and earth for me. He did this all for you too by the way. He saw to it that we have a living word to reveal to us all that He has done. Then to top it off, He actually sent His only begotten son into the world so that we could have all that He wanted us to have in the first place.

As I began to thank Jesus for His life, I thought how He was born son of man. Even as a child he was protected which reminds me how I am protected. He was also provided for along with his parents. God sent angels to guide them. It reminded me that He has sent the Holy Spirit to be our guide and angels as ministering spirits on our behalf.

He grew up with favor and had his own business. I have no doubt that he was successful in that business because he was a quality person. Then one day, he went into the ministry, and what a ministry it was. I thanked Him for all of the miracles. You know He did those for us as well as for the people at that time. He was showing us what it was supposed to be like. He made so many promises that we really need to accept.

In His life nothing could faze Him. If demons came he cast them out. If storms arose He calmed them down. No one could do anything to Him until it was the appointed time. They would try to shove him over a cliff and he would walk right through them. They could not have killed Him, if he did not allow it.

When it was time for Him to finish His victory, He went to the cross. From there He went to the tomb, and then into hell to strip the power of death. After that, He came right out of that grave, breathed on the disciples, and told them to receive the Holy Spirit. Then after a few days and a few more lessons, He went right up to sit at the right hand of the Father, where He lives forever to make intercession for us.

What a life of victory He had. And yet, people try to make Him out and some poor suffering person. He was and is the King of Kings. As I began to say this to the Lord, He pointed out that it is no surprise because people tend to magnify trials more than they do blessings and victories. Jesus came that we might have life and if we take an honest look at his life, we can see that He lived large and continues to live as our example of life in the Kingdom of God. So be of good cheer. Give thanks to the Lord.
