ULTIMATE TOURS

Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden to tend and keep it. (Gen. 2:15)

For several days I searched for a message that God had placed on my heart from what I thought was earlier in this year. Finally by the grace of God, I found a clue that then led me to the actual word from nearly two years ago. The message was hidden away under a different title, but there it was, “Casual Won’t Cut It.” Without going into the whole trail that I went down to find it, I was amazed at the things I found in the message and also at the things that the Holy Spirit had already reminded me of from the message. It was just another reminder of the things He stores that we think we have lost.

Well previous to actually finding the message, God had spoken to me when I went to speak to some folks that I should take them on a tour. I knew that He was speaking of a tour of the Kingdom of God. He reminded me of how they have tours of homes and how the tours are intended to simply show them off in some cases and in other cases for purpose of enticing people to buy them.

Well God’s Kingdom is a tour of the best of the best and it is for everyone free of charge. The key is to have eyes to see and ears to hear and a heart to understand. God gave the original tour when he put Adam in the garden with access to everything and it was his to tend and keep it. It was perfectly supplied and all he had to do was live there with Eve. We all know how that ended.

After that we have many glimpses of the kingdom and the consequences of failing to appreciate it. Noah built a boat to start the next major tour. Abraham gave us a glimpse of what God’s favor would do for us. Moses was a tour guide of sorts as well.

Finally, Jesus came and once again gave us a tour of the Kingdom of God. He revealed the life of a man full of the Holy Spirit. He declared the good news of the Kingdom of God. He gave us an ultimate tour of what God has prepared for those who love and trust Him. He told us exactly what the Kingdom of God was like. He titled His tour, “The Good News of the Kingdom”.

He did not leave one thing out. He told us to learn from the past and look to the future. He warned us that there would be bumps in the road, but He had already made arrangement to make them smooth. He knew there would be things that startle us and so He gave us an answer to those things, “Fear not!”

God’s Kingdom is not a fantasy tour; it is the real thing! It is not a someday, pie in the sky, maybe, could be, story book. His Kingdom is readily accessible, but only realized with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and His power. Oh that the eyes of our understanding would be opened so that we can see all that God has for us. Adam and Eve
Cut their tour short as have many since. Let’s finish the tour and invest!
