What a wonderful thought to contemplate at this very special time of year, or at any time all year long! This is a familiar set of words to lots of people who may not even know that they come from the Bible. I sang these words many times in school and never really had a clue that they were God’s words. In this day and age there are probably people who become offended when they find out that such a nice song actually came from the Word of God. I find it Hard to figure why people want to reject such great promises. I pray especially for those people today.

Today I wonder if you have personalized these words lately. Have you considered that the Child was born for you? Remember, He was born to give you rest from fear, oppression, and every other thing that attacks you.

You have the privilege of placing the governing of your life on His shoulders, and in so doing you may be free from fear of what will happen around the world, because you will have confidence that when you pray God hears. You can have joy in the midst of sorrow because you are certain that God is! You know He is, because you know He dwells within you.

His name to you is wonderful. We can be free because of His wonderful love, mercy, provision, protection and an infinite number of wonderful things that He is. No matter what we may face, He is wonderful. No matter how great things are He is more wonderful. He is our wonderful, wonderful Lord!

We never need to remain confused or perplexed, He is our counselor. His name is counselor. How do we stand when we have done all to stand? The counselor reminds us that we have armor to put on and keep standing.

How can we be so sure of success? That is easy! We know the Mighty God. His name is Mighty God for a reason. He is not just mighty, He is the mightiest; He is Almighty God! He is Everlasting Father. He does not desert His children. He does not have power failures. He is never without a plan.

He truly is the Prince of Peace. There is no end to the increase of His power and peace. Some may think that they can legislate God out of our world, but they are to be pitied and prayed for the most, for there is no limiting God in that way. What limits God is when His people fail to pray and believe.

As you know, Christmas is more than presents and parties. It is most importantly the time to renew our awareness that He was born to dwell with us and save us. And thank God He has done just that for who so ever will call upon His name!
