WE MUST ENTER
"We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God." (Acts 14:22b)
It is a given that there will be things in our lifetime that agitate us. There will be trials and there will be tribulations just like Jesus said there would be. However, it would be good for us all to take the focus off the tribulation idea and zero in on the entering the Kingdom of God part. We must continue in the faith and we must enter the Kingdom of God. We are not talking of heaven, but rather of the Kingdom of God as Jesus taught. We must do this for our sake, for the sake of the Kingdom, and for the sake of others.
Face it, if we put categories on what we consider tribulation like they put categories on storms, everyone would have a different standard. Something that is huge to one would be no problem to another. The fact that it is or is not a problem to someone can be a problem to someone else. So it would be beneficial for us all to take the focus off the tribulation and put it on the Kingdom. Does that make sense?
The bible is full of the ups and downs of people. In this chapter there was a great healing and as a result an opportunity for Paul and Barnabas to be worshipped. Have you ever considered that to be a tribulation? How many have fallen to the temptation to take the glory?
Of course, we can all see being stoned as a tribulation, but it was no problem for God to raise Paul up. The point is that we must continue in the faith because we must enter the Kingdom of God.
I have come to the realization that not everyone in the world is concerned about salvation or becoming a Christian or with much of anything about God. In fact, I am not certain that all that many Christians are concerned with entering the Kingdom of God in this life time.
At the same time, I am certain that everyone desires the things of the Kingdom of God. Everyone wants peace. Everyone wants joy. Everyone wants contentment. Everyone wants health. Everyone wants love. Well the only place to find the whole package is in Christ and in His kingdom. Therefore, if we want that, we must enter. When others see that we have that, they may want it. Even if they don’t, at least they will get the opportunity to see what God has to offer. He is not just a bunch of words, He is life.
So no matter what comes; fight to enter the Kingdom. I have also discovered that the fight never ends. When you win a physical fight, the mental fight increases but that is not problem for God. Just continue in the faith with your focus on entering the Kingdom. The Lord is our refuge and strength. He is our strong tower. He is our fortress. We can trust Him. Our victory is in the Kingdom. We must enter. Like the gladiators pressing through the eliminator we can do it! There is rest for those who press.
