WE NEVER GIVE UP
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. (2Corinthians 4:16)
When I was young, I never gave much thought to how long I would live. I did at times figure I would not live long. Now, I am certain I will live forever. When we know we will live forever, it helps us overcome the cares of today. We still have them, but they don’t have us!
There are always shadows, until the light is in the right place. I had this thought as I wrote in my journal. I have the light on, but the shadow of my hand keeps me from seeing what I am writing clearly. As a result, it ends up being hard to read when I try to read it later!
The light of the Lord is always present, but there are shadows that keep us from seeing it clearly. Oh, how wonderful when the Light is in the right place. We learn to walk in the light and overcome the shadows.
Genesis 3:10 speaks of Adam’s response when God asked where he was and why he was hiding. “I was afraid because I was naked.” Most of us do not like being caught naked. Even nudists prefer private beaches. Now we have seen, as depravity has escalated and reprobate minds have gone beyond what we could ever have imagined. Pray for those who have been taken captive by the devil. Eternity is coming. In fact, it is here.
2 Cor. 3:18 reveals that Holy Spirit changes us and makes us more and more like Jesus. We have escaped like a bird out of the snare of the fowler. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Paul begins 2 Cor 4 saying that “since God in His mercy has given us this new way, we never give up.” We keep preaching that Jesus Christ is Lord. God has made His light shine in our hearts. (5,6).
When we are confident with the confidence that Holy Spirit gives us. We never give up! We truly are being renewed every day. Even if we don’t feel it. Even when we can’t see it. We know it! Because God says it is true.
Whose report will we believe? Even when we are pressed, we are not crushed. We may feel crushed. We may feel like throwing in the towel. Job’s wife encouraged him to curse God and die! But he did not. He was confused and pretty much in despair, but it did not end there.
Remember nothing is over until God says it is over. Don’t believe the lies of the enemy that is always hunting you down. Remember, you are never abandoned by God. He is with you, and He is for you. So don’t give up. Don’t give in. Stand strong and praise the Lord again and again!
