WE SEE JESUS

What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels and now is crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death for us. Yes, by God's grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone in all the world. (Hebrews 2:9 NLT)

Have you ever said or heard anyone else say, “now I’ve seen everything?” Or how about this one, “I would not have believed it if I had not seen it with my own eyes.” Well none us have come anywhere near seeing everything, and even though they say that seeing is believing we are called to have faith, which is the evidence of things not seen.

Things may not always look the way want them to. In some instances it may seem that they seldom look the way we would like, but what we can see is Jesus if we will look for Him first. He promised that He would always be with us, so we need to look for Him to show up on our behalf. So many times we may feel disappointed, and I think it is only because we do not expect Jesus to intervene and so we do not look for Him. I can say from experience that in the worst of times and the best of times, He is always there and the sooner we look the sooner we see. The problem is that there are just too many things that interfere with our vision.

There are people around us who encourage us to doubt. They may not do it maliciously, but they still do it. When we need to see Jesus, we need to be selective about what sort information we will allow to enter our thinking. Therefore, we need to be selective of the type of input we allow. In other words, when you need Jesus input; find Jesus people. Listen to people that will point to you towards Jesus.

It is true we have not seen Jesus take authority over all the things in our lives. We know that God has given Him the authority and that He in turn passed this same authority on to us. We discover this wonderful authority is found in His Name. Since we know that Jesus came to the earth to die for all people and that He accomplished what He came to do, we also know that the rest must be true. God does not do part of what He says; He does it all.

Therefore since we see Jesus, we also see that the rest is true as well. So it would seem that we will see the rest when we declare it. I get this smile on my face as I have a thought that in today’s language the Holy Spirit may have been inspiring the author to say “you ain’t seen nothin yet!” However, if we will just get the Jesus part deeply engrafted into our hearts and minds we will be encouraged that since Jesus did what He did, nothing else is impossible.

We can then begin to measure every situation and circumstance by His ability to deal with it. He said that without Him we could nothing. The sooner we do not even want to try anything without Him, the sooner we will experience His authority over all things. It seems to me that the wise choice is to see things from the Jesus perspective.
