WHAT TO DO
But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Protect them, so all who love Your name may be filled with joy. (Psalm 5:11 NLT)
We have so many things going on in our world right now. But the truth is, there have been things going on since time began that have caused people to wonder and to question. What shall we do? There are a lot of different opinions as to what God is doing and what God is saying, and it may be that He is telling a lot of people a lot of different things. It may be that He is giving individual instructions and people are declaring that they have the word for the whole world.
As for me, I just cannot bring myself to blame God for evil things. I could be very wrong and if I am, I trust God to tell me to go with something different. In the mean time, I do not think that a person can go wrong encouraging people to look to God for help, comfort, wisdom, provision, protection and anything else they need. Although I have to admit, that if I did not know God and I heard people saying that God is responsible for all the bad things going on because He trying to teach us a lesson and bring America to its knees, I would wonder about calling out to someone who is beating people up. I would also wonder how it could be considered free will, if I am forced to submit myself to God. But perhaps that is just my peculiar way of thinking.
On the other hand, if God came into the churches and started offering those who claim to be His children to either start acting like it or get bounced off the wall, that I could understand. After all we are living under His roof and He is our Father. According to the Bible, judgment does begin in His house.
The original thought of this note was to suggest what we could do. We should rejoice in the Lord, we should sing joyful praises forever. Yes, if we will praise God, then He will go out before us. He will search out and defeat our enemies. Sure sounds wiser to praise God than it does to blame Him. We should be asking God to protect us. If we do we will be filled with joy. Why will be filled with joy? Because He will protect us! But again, how can we expect Him to protect us, if we think He is the one that is out to get us.
I really don’t think that anything that happens changes the original instructions that Jesus gave us. He said to go into all the world, and as you go, tell everyone the good news and make disciples of those who receive the good news.
The good news is that nothing is too difficult for God. And if we will praise Him and rejoice before Him, we will very soon have more to rejoice over than we could have ever hoped or imagined. We really do not have to figure everything out; God will give us understanding as we seek Him. The best way I know of to get God’s attention is to worship and praise and rejoice in His goodness. When we have His attention, we certainly have His protection.
