WHEN HE IS EVERYTHING

The church is Christ's body. It is filled with Him. He makes everything complete in every way. (Ephesians 1:23 ERV)

Truth is truth whether we know it or not. It is when we know the truth that it makes us free. This is true in everything, but it is especially true when it comes to God and His Kingdom. Jesus, by His blood sacrifice, made the way for us to know and to partake of the truth. “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” He makes everything complete in every way. The truth is; Jesus is everything! It is when He is everything to you and to me, that “all things” become a reality to us.

Many years ago, a spontaneous song came forth in worship. Often times these songs are for the moment and we may never do them again. Other times they are songs that God intends to be sung often. This particular song has been repeated often and just recently God pointed out an important progression in the song. The song says, “Nothing could be better than worshipping you, Mighty God. You are Almighty. You are above all things. You are my everything.” The song also speaks of uplifted hands, words of praise and a hearts filled with love. All these together open doors to His presence.

Scriptures says that we must believe that God is. If a person believes that God exists, then there is an awareness that He is in fact, mighty and capable of a lot! The more we come to know Him the more we come to understand that He is in fact Almighty! As we grow in faith we should come to understand that He truly is above all things. All of these are quite simply true whether we know them or not, the key to owning this truth is in when we come to the realization and declare to Him; “You are my everything.”

It is in knowing Him as our everything, that we really know Him as He is. We not only believe He is mighty, almighty, and above all things, we expect to experience Him continually. Our dependence upon Him opens the door for Him to be everything to us that He has promised.

He is God. He is for me. He dwells in me. His blood sacrifice made the way. The Holy Spirit sealed the deal. Until He is everything, we may be comfortable with some things, but all things will seem a stretch. “Everything,” on the other hand brings us confidence and assurance that God is true!

The disciples understood that He was everything before they fully comprehended all the rest of who He was. Tell Him, “Lord, you are my everything.” Take the time to tell Him often and see how the Holy Spirit will bear witness with you and how your relationship will grow.
