WHO DONE IT

Who has done such mighty deeds, directing the affairs of the human race as each new generation marches by? It is I, the Lord, the First and the Last. I alone am He. (Is. 41:4 NLT)

As things continue to happen in our world, the question continues to be argued. Who done it? In the secular world they are trying to decide who is behind terrible events that are taking place. With the elections everyone is saying the other person did the bad stuff and they take credit for the good stuff. In the religious world people are trying to decide what kind of god does this or that and how many god’s are there. In the Christian realm we have the group who say that God is doing terrible things to teach us lessons. Others say He is allowing it to teach us lessons, and there are other camps as well.

I personally prefer the idea that evil things come from the evil one, the devil. With all the evil going on, I like to focus on how our wonderful God keeps it from being worse. At the same time I have to say that if in fact God is doing terrible things it would not change my love or devotion for Him. I decided nearly twenty years ago that He was right. No matter what He says or does it is the truth and it is right. Habakkuk said in so many words that if the world fell apart he would still praise God and that is how I feel.

It is my contention that the important thing is that we love God and that we spread that love of God as we live in this world. God Himself easily answers most of the questions that are being asked. He is directing the affairs of men. Some would say that He is not doing a very good job. Oh but He is doing a great job. He watches over the affairs of men and directs those who will take His direction. Remember, He does not over ride any persons free will. The right directions are available if people will follow them. It is not His fault if people follow other directions.

He clearly states that He is the one and only God. He is the First and the Last. Since the Bible tells us that He establishes all rulers, some wonder why He does not just pull the strings to put in all good ones who will follow His ways. It is because He directs our affairs according to how we want things. He never wanted Israel to have a king, but they wanted to have one like everyone else. So He warned them what would happen but gave them a king anyway because that was what they wanted.

If we want things to change, then it starts with people who are called by His Name. We must pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done on this earth as it is in heaven. We must lead in trusting God and declaring that it is not important to figure out who is doing what. We must declare that the most important thing is that we love God. If the whole world loved the one true God and lived by His principles with His commandments as our foundation, then the whole world would know that the blessing of the Lord is rich and has no sorrow with it. If you love God praise Him and encourage others to do the same. He is a good God. He can and He will fix everything. He created all things and He is able to keep all things. Let’s all give ourselves more completely to Him so that He can use us as He sees fit in the affairs of our world. Vote for righteousness to prevail in our world. Vote for life and not death. Choose God!
