WILL YOU BE ONE?

If you can find a man, if there is anyone who executes judgment, who seeks the truth, I will pardon her(Jer.5:1 NKJ)

The Living Bible says, if you can find just one person. I think the Lord is calling and asking Christians everywhere, “will you be one?” Will you? Will you be one person who will stand in the gap. Will you be one person who will seek justice and determine to follow God, and no matter what happens, you will you keep going?

So many people see God as a cruel taskmaster who only wants to make their life dull. That He just can not wait to punish people for their sins. This is sad, because the truth is He is looking for anything, just any small reason He can find to rescue people and bless them.

He had warned and warned these people of the impending judgment. He had called them all to get their act together, but when it came right down to it, He said, “just show me one person that is all it will take for me to hold this off. Just one.”

Truly, God says that the fervent prayer of a righteous man will accomplish great things. One man or woman who would pray could save the whole city. But in the end, there was none to be found. Oh how the Lord pleaded with them. And He still pleads with us today.

To me, that is a very sad picture. Almighty God, Who we should be worshipping and in fact trembling in His presence, having to beg us to let Him bless us! And yet, as a parent, I know how that can work. You want so badly for your children to have everything, and for them to make right decisions, that you end up in tears of concern and looking for just any opportunity, any reason to just go ahead do the good that you wanted to in the first place.

Folks, God should not have to do that. God should not have to be calling us all the time, we should be the ones calling Him. And we will, when the truth takes its rightful place in our lives, and we realize that He is our all in all. When we finally realize that God is the only One we need and determine to make Him our source for everything in our lives.

So, will you be one? One who becomes a seeker of justice and truth. One who will fast and pray and stand in the gap for your family, your church, your city, and anything else the Lord lays on your heart. Will you be one who God calls my good and faithful servant and invites to enter into the Joy of the Lord? Will you be one, who makes a difference, who saves a nation and perhaps the world. Who so ever will answer the call will do mighty acts in the Name of Jesus. BE ONE!
