WITHOUT JESUS

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

Without Jesus! What would I do without you Lord. The thought just causes me to pause. I understand, only too well, what it is like without Jesus. The interesting thing is, we, or at I, did not know I was without Him until I was with Him.

We think we are living until we find out we were dead. We don’t really understand lost, until we are found. Once we can see, we realize we were spiritually blind! Yes, amazing grace saved a wretch like me.

We can think we are fine. We can pretend we are fine. But the truth is, God just keeps drawing us. Jesus left His heavenly throne and invested 33 plus years in making a way for us to be free. That is a long time. Fortunately for us, He felt we were worth it.

Without Him, there is no life. With Him, we can wait. We can trust. We can know that He will show up in our circumstances and that He hears our prayers.

Without Him, we lack assurance. We hope He might hear us. We question His judgement. We are pretty self-centered. We can handle it! I am so glad I am not without Jesus.

Yes, I was without Jesus and because I was, I recognize the feeling when I break away for my own way. I am like a child who wanders and then realizes that they have lost sight of mommy or daddy. Oh, how wonderful to turn and see He was following me!

For a long time I waited, thinking that He’d come to me. I wasn’t excited, I decided what would be, would be. Then for some unknown reason, by chance, I took the first step. That’s all that He needed, He entered my heart as I slept. Now is the time, make up your mind. Give your life to the Lord.

That is me. That is a song from 40 years ago. It was not Him, who had to come. It was me. Come to Jesus. Over and over and over again; come to Jesus.

In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the life that leads to life.” Unfortunately, we can choose the dark if we want. The devil will always be waiting to destroy us; to encourage us that the dark is more convenient at times. But it never is!

Don’t let people bother you or mock you for walking in the light. There is a lot of that going on, but it is not new. They called Jesus a devil for healing people! Stand with Jesus. He stands with you.

If you can imagine life without Him and not be bothered. Come out of the dark. Trust Him. Call out to Him. There is no life without Jesus.
