WORK
But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at bringing others to Christ. Complete the ministry God has given you. (2 Timothy 4:5)
Did you know that God has called us all to ministry? He has called us all to share the good news of the gospel. Some are called to share it with multitudes and some are called to share it with one. We never know who the one is that God has prepared for the good news. That is why we must always be prepared. We must be as excited to share with one, as we would be to share with multitudes. We must all be willing to do whatever it is that the Lord gives us to do.
For this reason, we are encouraged to keep a clear mind in every situation. We must do as scripture says and pray about everything. We can’t worry about what the cost may be of doing God’s will. We are to work at bringing others to Christ.
Now I know that Christianity is not about works and yet we must work at it. We are called to work out our salvation. As we work at experiencing all the fullness of God, we are transformed. Jesus said that we are the light of the world. As we draw closer to God our light shines brighter and brighter.
The gift that God has given us has many parts. I believe one part is a gift that longs for others to know the Lord. Sometimes we can get so caught up in our walk and our own lives that we neglect this gift. We cease to look for opportunities to reveal Christ to people. This is a gift that needs to be fanned into flames. It is something that we all need to be reminded of. If we neglect this gift we will rob ourselves of promises that God has made to us.
God told us that we do not need to worry about the things we need for life as long as we seek His kingdom and righteousness first. His kingdom is all about the treasures of the good news and of seeing that everyone has the opportunity of hearing the good news and seeing how it affects the lives of those who receive the great gift of God.
Our ministry is not complete unless we see others brought to Christ. We may not always see the harvest, but we should be sowing seeds. Our first call is to love God; the second is to love others. There is no greater act of love than giving one’s life for another. Remember to work as God leads you in bringing others to Christ. You may wonder what you are supposed to do. Ask God to guide you. You can be sure that He will.
