WORTH IT
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. (Ephesians 3:10)
Was it worth it? I smile every time I think about the day I was asked that question. The question was asked by a person concerning what I supposedly left behind to come to Jesus. At the time I knew very little about what was to come, but I knew very well what was behind! So, the answer was simple. Yes! Yes! Yes, it was worth it then and more worth it now. He was the very best choice I ever made.
Of course, Jesus made it clear that I did not choose Him, He chose me. (John 15:16) He chose you too! He chose everyone. He gave up thirty years to come and live here because we were worth it! Then for three and a half years He revealed how we should live before He died so we could live. Our life begins when we choose to die to self and live for Him, with Him in us!
I was reading in Ezekiel about the bones coming to life and breath in the bones. (Ezekiel 37). Then come the prophecies of the destruction of Gog and Magog (chapter 38). As I prayed, I thought of how the disciples asked about when these things would happen, and EVERY DAY, came to my mind.
Every single day, darkness is crushed, and people come to know Jesus. Lives that were dead bones with no breath in them come to life and God breathes on them. Faster and faster, righteousness is rushing to the rescue. Have you been rescued? Have you realized that nothing compares to your life in Christ? Do you recognize what He has rescued you from?
When we realize just how close we came to missing life in Christ; that is when we really start to live! Have you started to live? What is it worth to you?
In the midst of this, I told the Lord that I wanted to be as faithful to Him and as He is to me. He reminded me that what we do unto the least of these, we do unto Him! That is about as simple as it gets, until we complicate and set up our own selection process that is. Which least of these applies to us? If we listen to Holy Spirit, the process is simple. Do what He says!
Following Jesus is required for all who desire life in Christ. Everyone, well most people at least desire the rewards, unfortunately many prefer not to risk anything. There certainly is a price that comes with following Jesus. Our desires change, which changes our actions and attitudes. The spirit is always willing, but there could be a battle in convincing our flesh to go along.
You come to a place where you face that battle and let go of the flesh only to find that you never felt so good before. Have you come to understand that He is the only thing that is worth everything. There is more and more and more!
How we live matters. The choices we make matter. Choose life and promote life in Christ Jesus. A vote for Jesus is a vote for life. Holy Spirit breathe on us all.
