YOU CAN

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.(John 14:12 NKJ) I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.(Philippians 4:13 NKJ)

With all that God is doing in the earth today, I can not help but wonder what more is to come. After all, the scripture does say that we see only in part and that we know only in part. Since every word of God is true, then we know that there is more and more to come. As I praised the Lord for all that He is doing and in anticipation of what is coming, I was impressed with the need to convince all who would hear that you can do all things through Christ. YES YOU CAN!!!

Look at what Jesus said, HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME! That means everyone who believes in Him, in what He has done and what He is doing, will do the same things and greater things. We do not need to wait for someone else to do it, we all can. It is not just certain pastors or teachers or evangelists. It is everyone. I am not taking away from the importance of those whom God has chosen to lead us into greater glory. After all, I am a pastor myself. But I can tell you that all who have been blessed with the privilege of leading in the body of Christ, are well aware that their place is to build up the body and prepare them to do greater things. The leaders should not get puffed up, and the people should not despise those who lead. After all, we are all one. And God has appointed leaders to serve. So it is in this service, that I say to all who believe, “You can do all things.”

Look at the apostle Paul. After a time of instruction from Jesus, he went out to do the work of the kingdom. More and more, he became convinced that he could in fact do all things through Christ who strengthened him. Through Christ who accompanied Him everywhere He went, and confirmed everything He did, he became aware that nothing was impossible with God.

The Lord wants us to be convinced of these things. Lots of people know the, “Let not your heart be troubled,” part of John chapter 14. It is part of most every funeral! And people will say just trust God, He will comfort you. It seems we are comfortable with the comfort part. It keeps God doing what God does well and at a distance. But since Jesus said all of this at the same time, I discovered that it takes less that sixty seconds to get to the place in the conversation with the disciples for Jesus to tell them, that they and all who believe will not only do all the things He had done, but greater things as well. No wonder He could say, “let not your heart be troubled.”

God wants us all to believe this so strongly that we will overcome all doubts and begin to see greater things than we could hope or imagine. God’s purpose in all of this is to build His kingdom. People operating in great faith draw others to Christ. That is you! You can do it!!
