Your light is important. You shine more than you know. The truth is your light is the most important light to someone and you might not even know anything about it. Be encouraged by what Jesus said and is saying about you!

Can you imagine being Jesus? What did He know about who He was when He was born? Did He remember His glory in heaven? I don’t know. I think He mostly knew what His parents knew, and I don’t think they really grasped it. How could they?

As Jesus grew, he listened and asked questions. We know he was in the temple, amazing the scholars with the questions he had. As he learned, he must have been amazed with each new discovery. At the same time each new discovery led to a whole bunch of questions.

Did the prophecies concerning this child that would be born bear witness in his heart. Did he ask his mother and father if he would be hated like that child? Did his parents tell him about the children who were murdered as they tried to murder him?

There are a lot of questions coming to my mind as I think about this. Ultimately, I think he wanted to know what it meant to be the Christ Child. As he sought God, He came to understand that His father and He were one! But how would that work? The more he communicated with His father, the more He understood, and I think it produced more questions. I think He developed a great deal of trust for what the father wanted, even before he fully comprehended it. After all, it was more than a natural mind could possibly process.

Remember, Jesus did have a natural mind, that by faith became heavenly minded. At least I think that must be how it all worked out. He believed what His father told Him. We know it was not all that easy. We know that in the garden He got all the assurance He needed to complete the course.

So, all of this brings to the light that we have. We know that Jesus said that we are the light of the world. We know that the light He is talking about is the light He shines through us. We know that He is in us. What we don’t know is just exactly what that means until we consider it. How does it work? Do we want it to work? Are we sure that it will work? Have we taken Him seriously when it comes to this wild statement?

He said that all we need to do is let it shine. We are invited to walk with Him and like Him. I really love walking with Jesus and yes, I would like to walk like Him. I want to see the miraculous that draws people to Him, but am I willing to commit myself to discovering all the workings? Actually, it is by faith in Him and that is not difficult.

Jesus had faith in what His father told Him, no matter how outlandish is seemed! He trusted it would work out. Jesus tells you that you are the light of the world. That means you are special. Let Him show you how special you are. Walk humbly with your God!
